Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif met on Sunday with Ikram Ullah, a student from Balochistan’s flood-hit Qila Saifullah district, and praised his educational achievements despite adversity. During the televised meeting, the premier recalled his first encounter with Ikram in 2022 when devastating floods had destroyed the student’s school and disrupted education across the province. He noted how Ikram had previously shared the challenges of traveling long distances to attend school amid the disaster.
Expressing satisfaction over Ikram’s academic progress, PM Shehbaz commended the student’s perseverance and acknowledged the support of his teachers and parents. “It is heartening to see your dedication to education despite hardships,” he said. The prime minister had earlier granted Ikram a scholarship to cover his educational expenses, ensuring uninterrupted schooling after the floods.
Ikram Ullah thanked the prime minister for the financial assistance, calling it life-changing for a student from an underdeveloped region. He vowed to continue striving for excellence and revealed his ambition to appear in the CSS exams to serve the nation. “Pakistan needs leaders like you who uplift marginalized communities,” Ikram told the premier.
PM Shehbaz encouraged Ikram to maintain his hard work and presented him with a gift as a token of appreciation. The meeting underscored the government’s focus on supporting education in disaster-affected areas and fostering youth potential for national development.
