Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has directed the immediate removal of all obstacles to ensure the early completion of the Diamer Bhasha Dam project.
Chairing a high-level meeting on the Diamer Bhasha Dam and other water resource projects, the Prime Minister emphasized that such initiatives should be treated as a top priority to enhance energy production and water storage capacity.
During the meeting, PM Shehbaz stressed the urgent need to overcome challenges facing the construction of Diamer Bhasha Dam. He underlined the importance of increasing water storage to support agriculture and prevent flooding.
He further added that affordable electricity and a strong agricultural sector are key to achieving economic self-reliance. Efficient water management and increased storage capacity are essential for the country’s long-term stability.
