The Punjab Home Department has imposed Section 144 within a 15-kilometer radius of all airports and air force bases across the province from June 5 to June 20 to ensure flight safety during Eidul Azha.
The move comes as the improper disposal of sacrificial meat near airports attracts birds, posing a serious risk to aircraft. The ban also covers pigeon-flying, fireworks, drone usage, laser lights, and dumping of sacrificial waste to prevent accidents.
Authorities have launched awareness campaigns in recent years to curb such hazards, following multiple incidents of bird strikes disrupting flights. Deputy commissioners have been instructed to enforce special cleanliness measures around airports.
