Qatar’s Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani has successfully convinced Iran to agree to a ceasefire with Israel, while Tehran has accepted the U.S. ceasefire proposal.
According to international news agency Reuters, a senior Iranian official stated that following Iran’s attack on the U.S. airbase in Qatar, the Qatari Prime Minister held a telephone conversation with Iranian leadership.
During this communication, the Qatari Prime Minister persuaded Iranian officials, securing Tehran’s agreement to the U.S.-backed ceasefire proposal.
Before this key conversation, U.S. President Donald Trump and Vice President JD Vance had called the Emir of Qatar, informing him that Israel had agreed to a ceasefire, and requested Doha’s help in convincing Tehran.
