Ranipur Schools Shut as Teachers’ Protest Escalates; Sindh-Wide Sit-In Planned

Ranipur ( Sajid Ansari) –
On the call of the Sindh Employees Alliance, all schools in Ranipur were completely shut down today. The strike, announced as the first phase, will continue until September 27, while in the second phase, on October 6, hundreds of thousands of employees from across Sindh will stage a sit-in outside Bilawal House Karachi until their demands are accepted.

All government schools in Ranipur remained closed, including Government Main Boys Primary School, Government Girls High School, Government Boys High School, Government Primary Girls School, and several others.

After the shutdown, teachers told the media that Sindh’s educators have been protesting continuously for the past three months, yet the provincial government has failed to fulfill their legitimate demands.

The teachers’ demands include:

Disbursement of DRA (Disparity Reduction Allowance) on the federal pattern

Salary increases according to inflation in the budget

Immediate release of group insurance maturity payments

Payment of benevolent fund

Restoration of the deceased employees’ quota

Service structure for primary teachers

Ending cuts in pensions

Teachers made it clear that until these demands are met, the protest will continue and intensify further.

On this occasion, Teacher Liaquat Lark, Teacher Manzoor Shahani, Teacher Raja Bhutto, Teacher Liaquat Mirasi, Teacher Rahib Sheikh, and others were also present.
