Rawalpindi Reports 994 Dengue Cases This Year, 56 Currently Hospitalized

RAWALPINDI: Health authorities have confirmed 994 dengue cases in Rawalpindi district so far this year, with 22 new infections reported in the last 24 hours, according to the latest official data.

Hospitals across the district have conducted screenings of 14,744 patients presenting dengue-like symptoms throughout the year. Currently, 56 confirmed patients are receiving treatment in hospitals. The District Health Authority has reported zero fatalities from the disease to date.

Dr. Waqar, a spokesman for the District Health Authority, emphasized the effectiveness of the current monitoring system. “Our hospital-based monitoring ensures timely detection and care,” he stated, while also stressing the critical role of community awareness in preventing the spread of the virus.

As part of containment efforts, a total of 1,361 surveillance teams have been deployed in the field. These teams have inspected 5,723,535 houses and identified 181,234 residences with potential mosquito breeding sites.
