In a concerning case of online impersonation, popular Pakistani actor Sana Javed has publicly alerted her fans to a fake Meta-verified Facebook page that is falsely using her identity. The fraudulent account, under the name “Sana Javed,” utilises her photographs and, most deceptively, features the platform’s blue verification badge, lending it an air of legitimacy.
The scale of the impersonation is significant, as the fake page has managed to gather a massive following of over 1.7 million users. This number surpasses the following on her official Facebook page, which has over 1.2 million genuine followers. The actor took to her Instagram stories to share side-by-side screenshots, clearly distinguishing her real account from the counterfeit one.
In her warning, Javed expressed her confusion over how the fake profile obtained verification, stating, “Alert, This is a fake page, and I am unsure how it was verified.” She firmly instructed her followers to disregard any statements or content shared from the fraudulent account, emphasizing that she does not control or endorse it.
The actor has assured her audience that she has taken official action. She has reported the impersonating profile and escalated the matter to the relevant authorities. Javed concluded her message by confidentially stating that appropriate action will soon be taken against this fraudulent page and asked her followers to remain vigilant.
