Scholars Call for Return to Quran and Sunnah to Resolve Muslim Ummah’s Crises

Tando Jam Report Munsif Ahmed Talpur)

Dr. Shahid Rafiq, Vice President of the Islamic Circle of North America, has said that by following the life and teachings of the Holy Prophet ﷺ, peace and harmony can be established across the world. He added that the hypocrisy and double standards of Muslims have pushed the Muslim Ummah into severe crises. Speaking at Jamaat-e-Islami Tandojam’s conference titled “My Prophet ﷺ, My Ideal”, Dr. Shahid Rafiq emphasized that the greatest sacrifices for Islam were offered by the Ahl al-Bayt—the blessed family of the Prophet ﷺ—who conveyed the message that Muslims must also be prepared to endure every trial for the sake of Islam.

He noted that the major reasons behind the challenges faced by the Muslim world today are the hypocrisy of Muslim rulers and the community’s distance from the Qur’an and Sunnah.

He further stated that unless Muslims purify their intentions solely for Allah, they will remain trapped in difficulties. He stressed that studying the life of the Prophet ﷺ and Hadith is an obligation upon Muslims, as it forms the foundation of understanding Islam. Professor Suhail Shariq, Assistant General Secretary of Jamaat-e-Islami Sindh, said that the message of Syed Abul A’la Maududi (RA) was for Muslims worldwide to rise above sectarianism, tribalism, and nationalism, and to unite under the banner of the Qur’an and Sunnah, thereby prevailing across the globe. He added that the Prophet’s ﷺ call was one of love—inviting humanity towards compassion and striving to bring mankind out of darkness—and Jamaat-e-Islami continues its struggle to spread this message. The conference was also addressed by Jamaat-e-Islami Tando Jam Ameer Hafiz Ghiyoor Ahmed, General Secretary Professor Rao Tariq Ali, and Professor Bahadur.

Among the attendees were Jamaat-e-Islami Hyderabad General Secretary Hanif Shaikh, Union Council Chairman Danish Qaimkhani, Councillors Tahir Usama and Abdul Hameed Shaikh, and former Tandojam Nazim Rao Asghar.
