RAWALPINDI – The Pakistan Army killed seven terrorists linked to “Fitna al Hindustan,” an Indian proxy group, in two separate intelligence-based operations (IBOs) in Balochistan, according to a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) on Tuesday.
The operations were carried out in the Mach area of Kachhi district and the Margand area of Kalat district, where security forces successfully engaged the terrorists based on intelligence inputs.
“Five terrorists were neutralised in Mach after a heavy exchange of fire, while two were killed in Margand,” ISPR said. Arms, ammunition, and explosives were also recovered from the terrorists, who were involved in numerous attacks.
The military reiterated that Pakistan’s security forces remain committed to eradicating what they described as “Indian-sponsored terrorism” and emphasized the nation’s resolve to bring the perpetrators and their facilitators to justice.
The use of the term Fitna al Hindustan—a newly coined phrase by Pakistan’s military—reflects the growing emphasis on India’s alleged covert involvement in destabilizing the region through militant proxies.
Meanwhile, data from the Pakistan Institute for Conflict and Security Studies (PICSS) showed 85 militant attacks in May, up from 81 in April, resulting in 113 deaths, including security personnel and civilians.
Despite rising tensions between India and Pakistan last month, the militant threat did not escalate significantly, according to PICSS.
