“Show Moral Courage & Reject Reserved Seats” – KP Adviser Challenges Opposition

Adviser to the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government on Information, Barrister Saif, has demanded that Maulana Fazlur Rehman and opposition parties demonstrate moral integrity by refusing to accept the reserved seats in parliament. In a sharp statement, Saif argued that while the 26th Constitutional Amendment and court rulings may legally allocate these seats, ethical principles should compel the opposition to decline them.

Saif asserted that the reserved seats rightfully belong to PTI, accusing rival parties of first “stealing PTI’s mandate through Form 47” and now “auctioning off” the remaining seats. “First, our victory was snatched, now our share is being distributed among others,” he claimed, condemning what he called an unfair political maneuver.

The KP adviser also took aim at Maulana Fazlur Rehman, recalling that the JUI-F chief had abandoned PTI during the 26th Amendment negotiations. He urged Fazl to follow the example of ANP’s Ameer Haider Hoti, who recently stated he would not take the reserved seats, calling it a “positive step” in political morality.

Despite what he described as a “fake government’s efforts to dismantle PTI,” Saif claimed the party has only grown stronger. His remarks escalate tensions over seat allocations, framing the issue as a test of ethical leadership in Pakistan’s turbulent political landscape. The debate now shifts to whether opposition parties will respond to this public challenge.
