Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah celebrated Pakistan’s 78th Independence Day in a unique and touching manner—by dedicating the festivities to differently-abled children. Two special events were held under the theme “Markaz-e-Haq” (Center of Truth), one at the Quaid-e-Azam House Museum and another at Mazar-e-Quaid, emphasizing inclusivity, national unity, and pride. Over 100 children from institutions like Scanosa, C-Arts, Dar Al-Sukoon, and Umeed-e-No participated in flag-hoisting, cultural performances, and patriotic songs in Sindhi, Punjabi, Balochi, and Pashto.
A Celebration of Courage and Talent
CM Shah, accompanied by Culture Minister Syed Zulfiqar Ali Shah and artists like Javed Sheikh and Ayub Khoso, warmly interacted with the children—singing national songs, joining them on stage, and cutting a celebratory cake. He praised their resilience, stating, “These special children are the heart of this celebration. They bring joy, energy, and hope.” Reaffirming his government’s commitment to inclusivity, he announced plans to expand special education and rehabilitation centers in every district and enhance vocational and artistic training for differently-abled youth.
Tribute at Mazar-e-Quaid & Call for National Unity
Later, at Mazar-e-Quaid, CM Shah laid a floral wreath, offered prayers for Pakistan’s prosperity, and paid homage to Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah. In an emotional moment, he lifted a special girl onto the podium during his speech, declaring, “Today, we celebrate our freedom with gratitude and renew our commitment to serve our people.” He also referenced Pakistan’s strong response to India’s May aggression, crediting the armed forces for their bravery.
Grand Night Celebration Announced
The CM announced a grand Independence Day event on August 13 at Karachi’s National Stadium, with special provisions for differently-abled children to participate comfortably. The day’s celebrations concluded with cheers, applause, and patriotic songs, as Culture Minister Syed Zulfiqar Ali Shah hailed the children’s performances as “a true reflection of love for the country.” Through these events, Sindh reinforced its vision for a more inclusive, compassionate, and united Pakistan.
