Sindh CM Pays Tribute to Benazir Bhutto on Her 72nd Birth Anniversary

Karachi  – Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah honored the 72nd birth anniversary of Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto, describing her as not just a political leader but an ideology, a struggle, and a symbol of hope for the oppressed. In a message issued from the CM House, he emphasized that Bhutto’s legacy transcends politics, as she laid down her life to restore democracy in Pakistan. He also highlighted her role in initiating the polio eradication campaign by personally administering drops to her daughter, Aseefa, setting a precedent for the nation.

CM Shah, who credited Bhutto for his political mentorship, reaffirmed his commitment to upholding her vision of a progressive, empowered, and democratic Pakistan. He stated that her birth anniversary was not just a day of celebration but also a renewal of the pledge to work for public welfare, health, education, and national unity. The Sindh government, under the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), announced district-level celebrations across the province to commemorate her legacy.

Later, the Sindh Assembly held a special ceremony to mark the occasion, where CM Shah, former CM Syed Qaim Ali Shah, and senior leader Nisar Khuhro cut a birthday cake in Bhutto’s honor. The event was attended by Assembly Speaker, lawmakers, and party members, who raised slogans of “Happy Birthday Shaheed Benazir Bhutto” as a tribute to her enduring impact on Pakistani politics.

The Chief Minister reiterated that Benazir Bhutto was more than a politician—she was a guiding light and an emblem of democracy. Her contributions to the nation continue to inspire future generations, and her dream of a stronger Pakistan remains a collective mission for her followers. The celebrations reflected the deep respect and admiration she commands even years after her martyrdom.
