Sindh launches HPV vaccination drive to protect girls from cervical cancer

Sanghar (Hasnain Ashiq Saand) The Sindh Health Department has launched a vaccination campaign from September 15 to 27 aimed at protecting girls aged 9 to 14 from cervical cancer.

As part of the awareness activities, Taluka Hospital Tando Adam organized a rally led by Assistant Commissioner Hunain Tariq Shahani, Medical Superintendent Dr. Fazal Mahmood Shah, and THO Khadim Hussain Mari. Doctors, paramedical staff, and health workers participated in large numbers.

Speaking on the occasion, the officials said the initiative was part of the Sindh government’s efforts to safeguard young girls from life-threatening diseases. They urged parents to ensure their daughters are vaccinated during the campaign, stressing that mobile health teams would visit door-to-door while vaccination centers have also been set up at Taluka Hospital, the EPI center, and other designated points.

They further appealed to political and social leaders, teachers, and civil society to play their role in making the campaign a success, terming the vaccination not only a health initiative but a step towards securing the future of the younger generation.
