The Sports Journalists Association of Sindh (SJAS), in partnership with JK Sports Club, organized a specialized workshop to train journalists in squash reporting. The event saw participation from SJAS members, senior media professionals, and Pakistan Sports Writers Federation Secretary General Asghar Azeem. World-renowned squash champion Jahangir Khan attended as the guest of honor, recalling his long-standing bond with sports journalists.
Jahangir Khan expressed his gratitude to sports reporters, acknowledging their vital role in his legendary career. “From my early days to now, journalists have been my partners in success,” he said. The workshop aimed to enhance young reporters’ understanding of squash, with coach Naveed Alam explaining technical aspects like scoring and match rules.
SJAS President Mahmood Riaz highlighted the workshop’s objective: to equip journalists with squash expertise for accurate reporting. Secretary Shahid Usman Saati reinforced this, stating, “Mastering game rules is fundamental to credible sports journalism.” The interactive session allowed participants to deepen their knowledge under expert guidance.
The event concluded with Jahangir Khan and Asghar Azeem felicitating SJAS officials for their initiative. Attendees received certificates, while Khan was honored with a floral bouquet and a commemorative shield featuring Sindhi Ajrak and cap—symbolizing Sindh’s rich heritage. The workshop marked a significant step in strengthening sports journalism in Pakistan.
