Tarar Presents Evidence in May 9 Case, Slams PTI Over £190m Scandal

ISLAMABAD : Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar stated on Thursday that solid evidence exists against those accused in the May 9 tragedy, leading to their convictions. Speaking to the media, he emphasized that CCTV footage clearly identifies the individuals involved in the violent incidents.

Regarding the £190 million corruption case, Tarar criticized the PTI’s founding chairman for failing to provide any evidence in his defense. He accused the PTI leadership of attempting to divert attention by invoking religion and references to the “State of Medina” instead of addressing the corruption allegations.

“The answer to the £190 million case is neither religious nor linked to the State of Medina,” Tarar asserted. He demanded that PTI leaders explain to the nation how they utilized billions of rupees from a business tycoon, stressing that the case pertains to corruption, not politics.

The minister also commented on the PTI founding chairman’s sons, stating that while they have the right to campaign, they should publicly acknowledge their father’s conviction in the corruption scandal. He urged them to carry a fact sheet on the case and clarify that it was a legal, not political, matter. Tarar dismissed PTI’s claims of political victimization, calling them misleading.
