A sudden flash flood caused by heavy rainfall in Nangarparkar, Tharparkar, led to a tragic incident where a group of tourists was swept away. One tourist lost his life, while ten others were rescued in a swift operation by local authorities and rescue teams. The disaster occurred when rainwater runoff trapped the visitors near a hilltop dam, leaving them helpless against the raging waters.
The deceased was identified as Talha, a resident of Karachi’s Garden area, who had gone missing when the downpour began. After hours of search efforts, police and rescue workers recovered his body. The flood had initially caught 11 tourists off guard, putting their lives at risk.
Fortunately, ten individuals—three from Karachi and seven from Mithi—were safely evacuated within an hour of the incident. The rescue mission was carried out jointly by police, emergency responders, and local volunteers, who worked tirelessly to ensure their safety.
