Tragic Bus Accidents in Sindh Claim 9 Lives, Over 40 Injured

A speeding bus carrying picnickers from Karachi to Keenjhar Lake overturned near Darsgah Muhammad Ali on the National Highway in Thatta, killing six passengers and injuring more than 20. Rescue officials confirmed the accident was caused by reckless driving. The victims, mostly residents of Orangi Town, were being transported back to Karachi, while the injured received emergency treatment.

Khairpur Accident Claims Three Lives
In a separate incident, a passenger bus traveling from Karachi to Mansehra flipped near Tando Masti in Khairpur amid heavy rainfall, leaving three dead and over 25 wounded. Police cited speeding and slippery roads as primary causes. The injured were rushed to Gambat Institute of Medical Sciences (GIMS), and investigations are ongoing.

Recurring Highway Tragedies
Pakistan’s highways continue to witness fatal accidents due to overspeeding, poor vehicle maintenance, and hazardous weather. Just last week, five family members died in a Hasilpur collision, while six perished in a Muzaffargarh bus-trailer crash earlier this month.

Calls for Stricter Enforcement
Authorities face growing pressure to enforce traffic laws, improve driver training, and upgrade road infrastructure to prevent such tragedies. With monsoon rains intensifying, the risk of accidents remains high, demanding urgent safety measures.
