Tyre Burst Leads to Deadly Bus Crash in Chakwal, Killing 8 Including Children

A horrific bus accident near Balkassar Interchange in Chakwal district claimed eight lives and left 18 others injured on Sunday morning. The ill-fated bus, traveling from Islamabad to Lahore, met with disaster when one of its tyres burst, causing the driver to lose control. The vehicle then plunged into a ditch and overturned, resulting in immediate fatalities.

Rescue Efforts and Hospitalizations
Rescue teams, including six units from Rescue 1122, National Highways and Motorway Police, and local authorities, swiftly responded to the scene. The injured were transported to Kallar Kahar THQ Hospital and Chakwal DHQ Hospital, where medical superintendent Dr. Mukhtar Sarwar Niazi confirmed four critically injured patients were referred to Rawalpindi for advanced care.

Youngest Victims Highlight Tragedy
Among the deceased were three children—aged just eight months, one year, and two years—while the oldest victim was 45. The injured passengers ranged between 14 and 55 years old. Chakwal police cordoned off the area, and investigations are underway.
